POLARISED SUNGLASSES

Aerial Polarised sunglasses blue tag

Sunglasses without Polarisation protect the eyes from UV rays, but not reflected light and intensive glare. Reflected rays from surfaces such as water are scattered in all directions. This leads to an intensive glare. Polarised lenses block the undesirable light from different angles and eliminates glare by letting through only the best visible light. Polarised lens are superior for fishing, boating, driving or any other glare intensive activity. They enhance colours, reduce eyestrain and sharpening the vision.

Polarised Sunglasses from Aerial Australia

How Polarisation Works?

The sun’s rays reflect light in every direction, so when a ray hits a flat surface, the reflected light shines back at your eye and is magnified, causing glare. Glare is a real irritation, It reduces your depth perception, distorts your view and color perception, and can even temporarily blind you. Regular sunglasses are designed to only reduce the amount of light that is transmitted through the lens horizontally and vertically. But the chemical filter on the lenses of polarized sunglasses is designed to absorb horizontal light waves, while still allowing vertical waves to pass through. Because light only travels in one direction through polarized lenses, the glare is eliminated, increasing the enjoyment of what you can view.

Polarised sunglasses vs standard sunglasses
All sunglasses sold in Australia must comply with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1067:1:2016. This mandatory standard sets limits on the allowed transmittances of fashion spectacles and sunglasses. Wearing sunglasses that meet or exceed the standard’s requirements for effective sunglasses ensures that the eyes have adequate protection against UVR damage. All our sunglasses are being tested at independent laboratories in Australia and meet or exceed the Australian Standards.
